'BradCast' 6/21/2019 (Iran War called off for now, U.S. 'concentration camps' still on)

On today's 'BradCast': Donald Trump says he called off an attack on Iran to retaliate for a U.S. drone shot down on Thursday. Iran says it flew into its airspace, which the U.S. denies. None of this would have happened had Trump not recklessly and stupidly pulled the U.S. out of the landmark Iran nuclear deal struck during the Obama Administration. Iran reportedly also showed restraint, declining to target a manned U.S. military aircraft accompanying the drone. Democrats call for a "step back from the brink of war" and Congressional debate, even as they have previously allowed Trump and other presidents to wage war without Congressional approval. Fox "News" talking heads goad Trump to bomb Iran. Iran and the world may breathe a bit easier for the moment, but children held in deplorable, overcrowded, unsanitary conditions in U.S. detention centers near the border cannot. Rightwingers waged a silly, disingenuous debate over comments by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accurately referring to U.S. migrant detention facilities as "concentration camps". The Trump DOJ actually argued in court this week that denying the children soap and toothbrushes, and forcing them to sleep on concrete floors in overcrowded cells, constitutes "safe and sanitary" conditions. The Texas Tribune rounds up horrific stories that suggest that, yes, these are in fact concentration camps. AP relates horrific accounts of what attorneys found at a facility near El Paso, where frightened children are caring for children and going for "weeks without bathing or a clean change clothes." In Oregon, Republican lawmakers are being fined $500/day for failing to show up to vote on an important climate change bill supported by a large majority of voters.
