'BradCast' 4/7/2020: (WI and U.S. Supreme Courts Force Voters to Risk Lives to Vote in Pandemic)

On today's 'BradCast': Reprehensible and morally unjustifiable rulings by the Republican majorities on both the Wisconsin state and U.S. Supreme Courts have forced tens of thousands of voters to risk their lives to cast ballots today in Wisconsin. Both courts overturned Democratic Gov. Tony Evers' executive order to postpone today's election until June. The state court's immoral decision assured that voters faced potential death if they voted in person at a handful of crowded polling places in the middle of a pandemic. The U.S. Supreme Court's stolen Republican majority ruled that tens of thousands of voters who had not yet received their absentee ballots by Election Day have no recourse if they did not postmark their not-yet-received ballots by today. WI voters may consider themselves lucky if voter suppression is the ONLY thing that happens to them after being forced to stand in long lines that snaked for blocks at consolidated polling places. We delve into the political and legal shenanigans Republicans in Wisconsin and the US Supreme Court pulled to disenfranchise Wisconsin voters, with the goal of cementing a Republican majority in the state's top court and ensuring voter suppression can continue across the country in the November 2020 election and beyond. Today's fights are an ominous warning for upcoming elections in the 20+ states that have postponed their primaries due to the pandemic, and for the 50 states running the most critical election in our nation's history -- pandemic or no pandemic -- on November 3, 2020.
