On today's 'BradCast': Trump's US Attorney General and personal fixer, William Barr, continues to exercise extraordinary, unprecedented powers in his role as the nation's chief law enforcement official. Barr is reportedly directing former members of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team to not appear before Congress in private hearings next week. Barr tried to implement a new policy that would have denied bond hearings for asylum seekers who meet certain criteria, allowing them to be held for months or years in already overcrowded detention facilities, but was blocked by a federal district judge. Barr has recently granted himself sweeping powers to establish precedent on immigration laws and override immigration court decisions -- including unilaterally changing the way immigration courts handle appeals. SARAH PIERCE, immigration attorney and policy analyst for the non-partisan Migration Policy Institute, explains how Barr's latest move gives him authority to set far-reaching immigration law precedent that would bind this and all future administrations.
