On today's 'BradCast':  Even with all the knives out between the candidates at the 2020 Democratic Presidential debate on Wednesday in Las Vegas, there was a relatively substantive policy debate over how to deal with our intensifying climate emergency. It's rare enough that climate and environmental issues are raised at all (an extraordinary disservice to the electorate) but recent polls show climate change is a top issue for voters, coming in second only to healthcare. Unlike Donald Trump and the Republicans, who treat the matter as a joke, all of the Democratic candidates appear to understand the existential threat posed by global warming and have released detailed climate policy proposals. Environmental and climate policy experts LEAH STOKES of the Univ. of California-Santa Barbara and DAVID ARKUSH of Public Citizen join us to unpack some of the key differences between the leading candidates on climate action policies -- which are in some areas much larger than voters may realize -- and how their responses in the debate are both telling and informative. Both are excellent climate policy communicators, with a sharp review of the climate crisis portion of Wednesday's debate, delving into the candidates' different positions on fracking bans, how their policy proposals stack up against the scientific data, how they plan to take on the fossil fuel industry and its executives politically (and, yes, criminally), and much more...
