On today's 'BradCast': While everyone is understandably distracted by President Trump's obnoxious, racist tweets and occasionally by his criminal behavior, we focus today on a number of disturbing stories highlighting how the Trump Administration is hollowing out the U.S. government, to the detriment of public safety but the cheers of industry special interests. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is cutting back on safety inspections for the nation's 90-plus nuclear plants at the request of the nuclear energy industry. In California, the Trump Administration has paused a legally-mandated federal scientific analysis of potential harms to endangered species, and abruptly replaced biologists from two federal agencies with a new team of attorneys and so-called policy experts to conduct a new analysis of the Bureau of Reclamation's plan to release more water to farmers in the state's agriculturally-rich Central Valley, at the request of the state's powerful agricultural industry. The Interior Department announced it is moving Bureau of Land Management headquarters from D.C. to Grand Junction, CO, forcibly reassigning hundreds of senior federal employees who will either be forced to move or resign. The US Department of Agriculture is also hollowing its scientific expertise, forcing top staffers to relocate to Kansas City. Similar moves are underway at a number of regulatory agencies as the Trump Administration guts the U.S. Government at the expense of public safety to the benefit industry. Also today: New federal court documents underscore Trump's direct involvement in a scheme to cover up his illegal hush-money payoffs to two women with whom he allegedly had affairs. Federal prosecutors have suddenly ended investigations into the Trump Organization and Trump himself in the campaign finance felony conspiracy. The hush-money matter alone is more than enough to merit impeachment and removal from office. Plus Desi Doyen has our latest 'Green News Report'...
