'BradCast' 11/11/2021 (Appeals court offers Trump a reprieve, as House Select Committee closes in)
11-11-2021 (53.11 MB)
On today's 'BradCast': The U.S. House Select Committee investigating the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol continues to close in on Donald Trump and his associates, making clear they have no intention of letting anything go in their probe of the insurrection incited by Trump in his last ditch effort to steal the 2020 election. After a flurry of rulings over the last few days, a late decision on Thursday by a three-judge panel at the U.S. Court of Appeals in D.C. has bought Trump a few more weeks. The three Democratic appointees to the D.C. Court issued a temporary injunction on the release of Trump's White House records to the bipartisan House Select Committee, and scheduled a hearing on November 30th to consider Trump's attempt to invoke Executive Privilege, as a private citizen, to block the release of those documents. But history and previous rulings from the Nixon era do not bode well for Trump. The House Select Committee is also seeking testimony from top staffers of former Vice President Mike Pence. While saving the nation from a bitter, angry, broken despot bent on revenge is no easy feat, it's also difficult for the 196 nations meeting in Glasgow, Scotland right now to save humanity from itself. Remarks from Britain's conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the closing days of the COP26 U.N. Climate Summit serve as a helpful reminder that real conservatives (unlike American ones) are not actually insane, and are actually conservative. Plus Desi Doyen has our latest 'Green News Report'...
