On today's 'BradCast': Thanks to Joe Manchin and Omicron, Christmas is cancelled. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) dropped a bombshell over the weekend, announcing on Fox 'News' that he could not support the Build Back Better (BBB) Act, President Biden's historic social spending and climate bill backed by nearly all other Congressional Democrats. If Manchin remains a 'no', then the bill and perhaps the Biden Presidency along with it are largely dead. Economists and the White House have noted that Manchin's shifting, limp justifications for breaking his promise to support BBB are all BS -- the bill will ultimately lower the national deficit and will reduce inflation. The CDC announced late Monday that the Omicron variant is now the most dominant COVID variant, dominating new infections across the nation, and is about to crash like a wave across the US over the next month, threatening to inundate our already-overwhelmed healthcare system.
