On today's 'BradCast': This week will be viewed by history as shameful for fifty Republican and two Democratic senators, who all voted to undermine voting rights and American democracy. After a year of Kabuki drama, played out for their benefit, obstructionist Democratic Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema joined American history's hall of shame in siding with segregationists, anti-democracy activists and Republican authoritarians in the U.S. Senate to block critical legislation to defend voting rights and American democracy. Despite claiming to support the Freedom to Vote: John Lewis Act, the two ensured it would not pass by embracing the Senate's undemocratic filibuster rule. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) and other Democrats vowed to keep coming back 'again and again and again' until the job of saving American democracy is won. Thanks to a U.S. Supreme Court ruling, the bipartisan U.S. House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol Insurrection and Donald Trump's attempt to steal the 2020 election is now receiving Trump White House documents that the disgraced former president fought to keep secret. The committee on Thursday requested the voluntary testimony of Trump's eldest daughter and former White House adviser Ivanka Trump. Fulton County (Atlanta) District Attorney Fanni Willis has requested a special grand jury in her probe of the apparent criminal conspiracy by Trump and others to unlawfully threaten and intimidate state election officials into reversing Joe Biden's 2020 election victory in Georgia.
