BradCast 12/12/2022 (AZ GOP Sore-Loser Election Lawsuits -- and One That's Legit; Sinema jumps)
12-12-2022 (53.11 MB)
On today's 'BradCast': All election lawsuits are not created equal, even in the same state by members of the same political party. In Arizona, several Republican candidates in the 2022 midterm elections have filed lawsuits challenging their losses - - failed GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Sec. of State hopeful Mark Finchem (along with failed U.S. House candidate Jeffrey Zink) baselessly allege fraud and malfeasance by election officials, and are asking courts to simply install them as the winners of their races, or order a new election entirely. Only the lawsuit by GOP Attorney General nominee Abe Hamadeh doesn't allege fraud or misconduct. We explain why Hamadeh's lawsuit is the only one that stands any sort of legitimate chance of not being laughed out of court, and why it's ironic for Republicans to suddenly complain about 'long lines' at the polls. Arizona's Sen. Kyrsten Sinema announced she has registered as an Independent, which for the moment won't affect Democrats' U.S. Senate majority, but the self-serving move could change the electoral outlook in 2024, when the wildly unpopular Sinema is up for re-election. Callers weigh in on all of the above.
