'BradCast' 11/2/2020 (2020 Election Last Call: Voting questions, concerns, fears)

11-02-2020 (53.15 MB)

On today's 'BradCast':   On the penultimate day before the deadline to vote in the critical 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and his Republican Party are actively filing a blizzard of lawsuits hoping to get the courts to help them toss out legally-cast ballots, hoping to take their voter suppression lawsuits to Trump's packed and stolen U.S. Supreme Court, where four justices have already promoted a radical extremist legal theory that only state legislatures may create any election rule or law. Texas Republicans immediately appealed a ruling by a very rightwing U.S. District Court judge Monday that rejected their attempt to discard 127,000 ballots legally cast at drive-thru sites in Harris County (Houston). Trump Campaign adviser Jason Miller brazenly lied about tallies and election procedures , falsely declaring that routine counting of lawfully-cast mail-in and military ballots after Election Night constitutes an attempt to "steal" the election.  Voters in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama struggle to vote on computerized voting systems because of ongoing power outages caused by Hurricane Zeta. Callers weigh in with questions about voting problems, the electoral college, and why they are planning to vote/not vote, or vote third-party this year (which seems insane given the situation this country and this planet are now in).  As non-partisan election integrity champion Jim Soper of CountedAsCast.org and the California Election Protection Network says: "If you are finding it difficult to vote, vote on behalf of the 225,000 who can no longer vote...Or vote on behalf of the billions of people world-wide who would love to have your American privilege, but don't. Or vote on behalf of Mother Earth... Vote in their place. Think of it as their vote... Ask, how would they vote? Then honor them. Please vote, because they can't."
