On today's 'BradCast': It was a bad day for disgraced former President Donald Trump, and a good day for the nation and the rule of law. New revelations were the centerpiece of what is likely to be the final public hearing of the bipartisan U.S. House Select Committee investigating the Trump-incited insurrection of January 6, 2021, and his multiple failed attempts to steal the 2020 Presidential election. The Committee presented dramatic, never-before-seen video of Congressional leaders taking action to deal with the violent insurrection at the Capitol amid Trump's silence and inaction; stunning Secret Service email and chat messages revealing the agency knew, weeks prior to the insurrection, that rightwing extremist groups planned violence; and documentary evidence confirming that Trump's false claims of a 'stolen' election were premeditated months in advance, that he knew he lost, and he knew there was no evidence of widespread fraud. Then the panel voted unanimously to subpoena Trump for documents and under-oath testimony about his role as ringleader of the riot. Also today, the U.S. Supreme Court rejected Trump's request to intervene in the litigation over documents he stole from the White House and took to Mar-A-Lago. New reporting reveals that Trump directed an employee to move boxes of stolen documents both before and after the Justice Department issued a subpoena for the classified materials.
