On today's 'BradCast':  Despite BS claims from Trump, lack of coronavirus testing  is causing chaos across the U.S., with only the well-connected able to get one.  Two members of Congress test positive for coronavirus; leadership rejects remote voting for members. Secret audio reveals GOP Senator Richard Burr privately warned wealthy funders about the likely catastrophic dangers and economic disruption of the coming pandemic, long before he (or the Trump Administration) warned the public. A ray of hope in China: Wuhan has zero new homegrown infections. Italy's death toll has officially surpassed China's. The infection rate in the U.S. increasingly resembles Italy's, but the response from the Trump Administration is far worse. The pandemic has caused an enormous spike in unemployment claims, but Republicans and Trump have so gutted the federal government through huge, reckless, unending tax cuts for the wealthy and interest rate cuts that we have very few economic tools left to mitigate the cataclysmic shock to the economy likely to come. Now Republicans, who planned to attack the eventual Democratic presidential nominee as a 'socialist', are once again relying on the federal government to provide enormous bailouts – which happens every time Republicans are allowed to take control of the federal government. Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell is pushing tiny checks for individual Americans alongside new massive tax cuts for giant corporations in any stimulus package -- the same corporations that already received a trillion dollar tax cut from Trump and the GOP in 2018.
