On today's 'BradCast': A mixed bag for democracy overseas this weekend, where (as here in the U.S.) a democratic election does not necessarily guarantee the winner will be a small 'd' democrat. For the first time in 20 years as Turkey's leader, the increasingly authoritarian President Erdogan will now face a runoff to retain power in two weeks against opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu to lead the key NATO ally nation, which has drifted toward the conservative right and Russia. Brighter democracy news in Thailand, where a surge of young voters helped propel two different opposition parties to a 'stunning' victory over the ruling military junta, on a platform of rolling back the military's political role and reforming laws that stifle dissent. In Virginia, a man who seriously injured two aides of Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) with a baseball bat has been arrested, the latest in the sharp increase in threats and attacks against lawmakers. Callers weigh in on the disturbing questions raised by CNN's appalling, lie-filled, 70-minute Donald Trump town hall last week, and how the corporate media should cover the frontrunner for the 2024 election.
