On today's 'BradCast': Elections are not only about the future, they're also about accountability for failed leadership, like in Florida. Florida will require additional federal aid spending to rebuild after Hurricane Ian, one of the most powerful storms ever to hit the United States. But the state's Republican leaders have previously voted against disaster aid for other states, voted down federal legislation to harden the nation's infrastructure against extreme weather disasters, voted against landmark legislation to both adapt to and mitigate climate impacts, and denigrated all other climate policies. Will Florida's voters hold their corrupt, climate-science denying Republican leaders accountable for their deadly, failed leadership on these issues? Will Florida's voters even be able to cast a ballot amid the rubble left behind by Ian? Also today: the House January 6 Committee will hold its next hearing on Donald Trump's failed insurrection next Thursday, Oct. 13. Voter registration is surging among women in Idaho in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling stripping women of their constitutionally-protected reproductive rights. President Biden pardoned Americans convicted of simple marijuana possession crimes and set in motion the process to decriminalize it on the federal level.
