'BradCast' 9/16/2021 (Whitehouse on FBI's Whitewash of Kavanaugh Sexual Assault Probe; CA Recall 'fraud'; COVID death panels)
09-16-2021 (52.42 MB)
On today's 'BradCast': Debunking rightwingers' newest false conspiracy theory about the California Recall election - there's a perfectly reasonable and verifiable explanation for the 'disappearance' of votes from CNN's unofficial ticker. In the Senate testimony of elite U.S. gymnasts regarding the FBI's abject failure to investigate hundreds of sexual assault allegations against team physician Larry Nassar, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) pressed FBI Director Christopher Wray about the agency's failures on another similarly flubbed background investigation into serious, credible sexual assault allegations against Donald Trump's then-Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh. The COVID pandemic continues to worsen in the U.S., with no end in sight, thanks to the voluntarily unvaccinated, as new data shows that 1 in 500 Americans has died from COVID. Idaho hospitals announced they are now forced to ration care under 'critical care standards,' in which doctors must choose which critical care patients will receive scarce resources, and which ones will receive only 'comfort care'. Similar 'death panels' are now in place or imminent in states with low vaccination rates, most run by Trumpy denialist Republican governors. While the vast majority of those paying the worst price are unvaccinated, new reporting shows their selfishness has come at an unspeakable to cost to many who are vaccinated but cannot obtain care at overwhelmed, crowded hospitals in several states.
