'BradCast' 3/25/2021 (Biden presser, 'The Art of the Possible', and much more)

03-25-2021 (53.37 MB)

On today's 'BradCast':  In his first press conference as President, Joe Biden gave detailed answers on a number of important policy questions, including immigration, foreign policy, and more. We focus on his answers on reforming the filibuster and what he called the 'un-American' avalanche of voter suppression laws moving through Republican-controlled state legislatures. The Georgia GOP-controlled state legislature adopted a massive voter suppression bill, restricting early voting, mail-in voting, and more, including provisions effectively giving themselves unprecedented control to take over county elections via their partisan State Elections Board, with power to meddle with any election results they don't like. US Senate Republicans pretended that Republican-controlled states are not enacting 250+ voter suppression laws in 40+ states. Study finds that 400,000 American lives could have been saved if the U.S. adopted widespread masking, social distancing and testing protocols by May 2020. For the first time since the pandemic began a year ago, weekly jobless claims fell below the pre-pandemic weekly record. In Virginia, Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam banned the death penalty.  Texas raised the death toll in its catastrophic blackout last month. New York State finalized a deal to legalize recreational marijuana in the state. California announced it will open up COVID vaccination eligibility to residents 50+ on April 1.  Plus Desi Doyen has our latest 'Green News Report.'
