'BradCast' 10/14/2021 (Why A Court Was Wrong to Dismiss the Last Major 2020 Election Contest in GA)

10-14-2021 (53.11 MB)

On today's 'BradCast':  Trump's friend Steve Bannon has no legitimate legal justification to refuse a subpoena from the U.S. House Select Committee on the January 6th attack - - but it's a big 'if' whether Attorney General Merrick Garland will follow through on potential criminal contempt charges. Donald Trump threatened Republicans that his supporters will not vote GOP in 2022 or 2024 if the GOP doesn't somehow overturn the 2020 election, but the statement suggests he may not be planning to run in 2024. In Georgia, a state judge dismissed the last major legal challenge still pending to the 2020 Presidential election there, ruling that the plaintiffs had no legal standing to sue, rather than addressing the issues in their complaint. We explain how and why the ruling unfortunately gives dishonest cretins like Trump and his supporters yet another opening to continue falsely claiming the results were somehow fraudulent. Public elections belong to the public, and only transparent public oversight can cure this problem. Secret vote counting by computers with ballots kept beyond the (controlled) reach of the public will guarantee that such claims -- legitimate or otherwise -- will continue to be made in future elections. That is a grave threat to democracy itself.  Plus Desi Doyen has our latest 'Green News Report.'
