{"id":9468,"date":"2012-08-11T12:19:21","date_gmt":"2012-08-11T19:19:21","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2012-08-11T17:00:01","modified_gmt":"2012-08-12T00:00:01","slug":"mitt-romney-introduces-the-next-president-of-the-united-states-paul-ryan-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=9468","title":{"rendered":"Mitt Romney Introduces &#8216;The Next President of the United States, Paul Ryan&#8217;: VIDEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>WaPo&#8217;s<\/i> Ezra Klein <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/ezraklein\/statuses\/234280538989555712\">described it<\/a> as a &#8220;Freudian gaffe&#8221;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EzZVkmypkq4\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>To be fair, Romney&#8217;s not the first Presidential candidate in recent history to have <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/blogs\/politics\/2008\/08\/obama-misspea-1\/\">made a similar mistake<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Stumbling starts aside though, a <strike>Ryan\/Romney<\/strike> Romney\/Ryan vs. Obama\/Biden contest might have made for a very welcome debate on two fairly, some might say <i>starkly<\/i>, different visions for this country&#8217;s future, at least on fiscal and domestic policy issues. A very clear governing mandate for one of those two different directions might have helped move this country forward for a change.<\/p>\n<p>If we had a level playing field with a system of publicly financed elections, access for all to the voting booth and a citizen-overseeable voting and tabulation system in this country so that this nation could have deliberated, spoken and have been heard in a crystal clear voice this November, this one might have been a really good and healthy election.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WaPo&#8217;s Ezra Klein described it as a &#8220;Freudian gaffe&#8221;&#8230; To be fair, Romney&#8217;s not the first Presidential candidate in recent history to have made a similar mistake.
