Wake Up Democrats."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/NoNukes.png\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\">I just wanted to pull out and highlight here my closing comments in regard to the BP Oil Disaster, from the end of <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=7857\">today&#8217;s Green News Report<\/a>, because no matter how often I keep repeating a similar refrain, nobody &#8212; particularly the Democrats in Washington &#8212; seems to be hearing it&#8230;<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">You know, what I have been struck by over the last couple of days, is the lack of <i>possibilities<\/i> for being able to clean up. It simply cannot be cleaned up. And while that&#8217;s true for an oil disaster like this, it&#8217;s equally true for <i>nukes<\/i>! Yet, even Obama&#8217;s Nobel-winning Energy Secretary Steven Chu has been calling for additional nukes, as have others. And the fact is nukes <i>also<\/i> cannot be cleaned up if things go wrong.<\/p>\n<p><i>Don&#8217;t sell me on anything that you don&#8217;t know how to fix if something goes wrong.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Why we continue moving forward with such technology that cannot be corrected in the case of a disaster is beyond me.<\/p>\n<p>Why Democrats, including Barack Obama, have not used <i>this<\/i> opportunity to demand passage of serious climate change and energy legislation &#8212; including a Manhattan Project for clean, renewable energy for <i>all<\/i> &#8212; remains an absolute outrage.<\/div>\n<p><em><strong>UPDATE 5\/27\/10<\/strong><\/em> A bit of, perhaps, encouraging news. At today&#8217;s White House presser, Obama noted that the BP underscores the need to pass clean energy legislation.
