California due to their admissions that the system used in that county loses votes under certain circumstances and that history of actions on the voting machines can be deleted from the internal audit file. The county has already made the decision to switch to another vendor for their voting system but they still use and pay annual fees for a Premier provided voter registration system. They did still use it anyway. In an apparent attempt to punish Humboldt Co a vindictive Premier has given the county a 90 day warning and a list of software and hardware that they want returned. Hopefully the county’s attorneys will take some action.

Featured – CA: Exclusive: Diebold Nukes Humboldt County!

Exclusive: Diebold ‘Nukes’ Humboldt County!

National: U.S. Election Assistance Commission snubs CIA analyst’s warning about electronic voting machines
http://www.examiner.com/x-1969-Boston-Progressive-Examiner~y2009m3d25-US-Election-Assistance-Commission-snubs-CIA-analysts-warning-about-electronic-voting-machines

National: Diebold’s CFO steps down in face of SEC probe
http://blog.cleveland.com/business/2009/03/diebolds_cfo_steps_down_in_fac.html

National: CIA expert told panel he wouldn’t divulge CIA’s interest in voting systems in a unclassified setting
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Most_electronic_voting_systems_can_be_0325.html

CO: Editorial – Online voter registration is a move to 21st century
http://www.denverpost.com/opinion/ci_11987917

MO: Woman Pleads Guilty in St. Louis Vote Fraud Case
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2009/03/24/us/AP-Voter-Fraud-Plea.html?_r=2&emc=eta1

NY: Genesee County – Election boards get grant money
http://www.thedailynewsonline.com/articles/2009/03/25/news/5310754.txt

OH: Re-counting the Toilet-Paper Audit Trail in Ohio
http://www.opednews.com/articles/Re-counting-the-Toilet-Pap-by-MJ-Creech-090221-663.html

SC: Groups rallying against SC voter ID bill
http://www.thestate.com/statewire/story/726414.html

TN: Voter Registration Could Require Citizenship Proof
http://www.wsmv.com/politics/19005371/detail.html#-

VA: Editorial – For Elections You Can Believe In
Without a paper trail, electronic voting will fail.
http://www.connectionnewspapers.com/article.asp?article=326978&paper=66&cat=110

Germany: Elections – Constitutional Court Decision on Electronic Voting
http://www.loc.gov/lawweb/servlet/lloc_news?disp3_1164_text

**Articles and commentary included in “Daily Voting News” may not all reflect the opinions of VotersUnite.Org or its allied organizations.
