{"id":6964,"date":"2009-03-04T16:23:51","date_gmt":"2009-03-05T00:23:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bradblog.com\/?p=6964"},"modified":"2009-03-05T05:53:45","modified_gmt":"2009-03-05T13:53:45","slug":"daily-voting-news-for-march-04-2009","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=6964","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Daily Voting News&#8217; For March 04, 2009"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the heels of yesterday&#8217;s announcement of a letter to the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) and a full report on the findings of an investigation by the California Secretary of State&#8217;s office, we have articles from <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.wired.com\/27bstroke6\/2009\/03\/ca-report-finds.html\">Kim Zetter in her blog<\/a> for Wired Magazine and one from one of the principles of the &#8220;Humboldt County Election Transparency Project,&#8221;\u009d <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=6962\">Mitch Trachtenberg that is posted on The BRAD BLOG<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p> Yesterday I mentioned the letter sent by the Secretary of State to the EAC. In that letter is a request by Bowen that the EAC &#8220;consider requiring that, for every voting system certified by the EAC, the voting system vendor report any and all flaws and problems with the system to the EAC and to the elections officials in the states where the system is used when such flaws are discovered.&#8221;\u009d This morning I was reminded by a member of the EAC staff, who receives DVN, that in the &#8220;Testing and Certification Manual&#8221;\u009d the EAC already requires what the Secretary has suggested they require&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Featured: CA: Report: Diebold Voting System Has &#8216;Delete&#8217;
