{"id":6951,"date":"2009-02-27T16:36:39","date_gmt":"2009-02-28T00:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bradblog.com\/?p=6951"},"modified":"2009-03-03T23:43:50","modified_gmt":"2009-03-04T07:43:50","slug":"coleman-busted-for-hiding-witness-email","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=6951","title":{"rendered":"COLEMAN BUSTED FOR HIDING WITNESS, EMAIL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/MN_FrankenColeman_Contest_PamelaHowell_022709_HiddenWitness.jpg\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\">On Day 1 of the Coleman\/Franken U.S. Senate election contest in Minnesota, the Coleman team was <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=6857\">busted doctoring evidence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, the Coleman camp was <a href=\"http:\/\/tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2009\/02\/coleman-camp-gets-caught-not-sharing-evidence-with-franken-side-coaching-witness.php\">busted having withheld notes<\/a> from Franken&#8217;s team, and today, the end of Week 5, &#8220;all hell just broke loose in the Minnesota courtroom,&#8221; <a href=\"http:\/\/tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2009\/02\/secret-coleman-e-mails-reveal-intentional-hiding-of-witness----franken-camp-wants-double-count-claim.php\">according to<\/a> TPM&#8217;s Eric Kleefeld, when it was revealed that Coleman&#8217;s team has also been <i>hiding a witness<\/i>, as revealed by <i>secret email<\/i>!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Al Franken&#8217;s lawyers [caught] Team Coleman in the act of yet more concealing of evidence &#8212; and they&#8217;ve now made a motion to totally strike the Coleman camp&#8217;s claims about double-counting of ballots, which the Coleman camp has hoped to use to subtract over 100 votes from Franken&#8217;s lead.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Add to that what attorney Ernest Canning <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=6934\">guest blogged here last week<\/a>, explaining how Coleman&#8217;s attorneys need to be sanctioned for having moved to un-count 933 ballots they&#8217;d previously signed a stipulation for, agreeing they were legitimately added to the total.<\/p>\n<p>Just <i>imagine<\/i> what this case would look like by now, had Franken &#8212; or <i>any<\/i> Democrat, anywhere, anytime &#8212; <\/i> been busted doing <i>any<\/i> of those things in regard to an election or an election contest.<\/p>\n<p>On the roll, literally, <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=6948\">in Phoenix right now<\/a>, so please <a href=\"http:\/\/tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com\/2009\/02\/secret-coleman-e-mails-reveal-intentional-hiding-of-witness----franken-camp-wants-double-count-claim.php\">see Kleefeld for the details<\/a> on the amazing fireworks today in the courtroom&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>UPDATE 3\/3\/09:<\/em><\/strong> Coleman fined for the incident. Slap on wrist includes stern warning that case could be dismissed if it happens again, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/politics\/national\/senate\/40556467.html?page=2&#038;c=y\">according to the <em>Star-Tribune<\/em><\/a>:<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">One of the more contentious episodes in the trial so far ended Monday when the judges slapped Coleman with a $7,500 fine for failing to disclose a document from a Republican election judge who claimed votes were double-counted in Minneapolis.
