{"id":5995,"date":"2008-05-16T12:28:31","date_gmt":"2008-05-16T19:28:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bradblog.com\/?p=5995"},"modified":"2008-05-17T13:23:44","modified_gmt":"2008-05-17T20:23:44","slug":"update-on-mo-gop-battle-to-disenfranchise-dem-voters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=5995","title":{"rendered":"Update on MO GOP Battle to Disenfranchise Dem Voters!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/Darko_MOPhotoID_051408.gif\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>By way of late update, MO sources tell <a href=\"http:\/\/www.BradBlog.com\">The BRAD BLOG<\/a> that the Republicans&#8217; state Constitutional Amendment to require draconian proof of citizenship and photo ID in order to cast a legal vote &#8212; which the MO SoS reports could disenfranchise as many as 240,000 legal Show-Me State voters &#8212; is still likely to come up for a vote today in the MO Senate, as this is the last day of the legislative session before recess.<\/p>\n<p>All eyes were on developments on the floor until the early hours last night, when the Senate was still in session as of 2:30am, even as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.columbiatribune.com\/2008\/May\/20080514News004.asp\"><i>Columbia Tribune<\/i> reports<\/a> there may be attempts to amend the language to make the Constitutional revision more &#8220;palatable&#8221; by allowing for the disenfranchisement to not take place until 2010, instead of this November.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate session is scheduled to end today at 6pm CT, and we&#8217;re monitoring the situation. We hope to have an update tonight when we&#8217;ll be <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=5994\">guest hosting the <i>Peter B.
