{"id":572,"date":"2004-09-17T16:22:04","date_gmt":"2004-09-17T20:22:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.test.bradblog.com\/?p=572"},"modified":"2004-09-17T16:22:04","modified_gmt":"2004-09-17T20:22:04","slug":"on-again-off-again-on-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=572","title":{"rendered":"On Again, Off Again, On Again."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a victory for Republicans hoping to win by getting Ralph Nader on as many ballots as possible, in lieu of confidence that their man is good enough to win on his own, the Florida Supreme Court <a href=\"http:\/\/story.news.yahoo.com\/news?tmpl=story&#038;cid=564&#038;ncid=703&#038;e=7&#038;u=\/nm\/20040917\/ts_nm\/campaign_florida_dc\" target=\"_blank\">has just ruled<\/a> that Nader <i>can<\/i> be added to the ballot because the Florida Legislature&#8217;s law was not clear enough to determine the matter one way or another. So they decided to rule in <i>favor<\/i> of inclusion on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s nice. But wouldn&#8217;t that seem to go <i>against<\/i> the Republican&#8217;s argument from 2000 that the Florida Supremes were all Democratic activist judges, and that a lack of clarity in the law concerning ballot counting meant that the law should be ignored in favor of <i>not<\/i> counting every ballot?<\/p>\n<p>Apparently judiciaries are only biased &#8220;activists&#8221; when they rule <i>against<\/i> what Republicans want.<\/p>\n<p>Hypocrisy in the Republican party?!
