I should also add that, according to the Police Report [PDF]<\/a>, Meyer was arrested on an absurd felony<\/i> charge of “inciting a riot<\/b> and disrupting a school function.”<\/p>\n

If that was “inciting a riot” worthy of Tasering, I can only shudder at what the authorities’ reaction would have been to someone who was actually<\/i> inciting a riot.<\/p>\n

And I believe my shudder is ultimately, and exactly, the point of such displays by the authorities.<\/p>\n

As Naomi Wolf pointed out<\/a>, such tactics have worked very effectively in the past.<\/p>\n
