{"id":4357,"date":"2007-04-02T15:30:49","date_gmt":"2007-04-02T22:30:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bradblog.com\/?p=4357"},"modified":"2007-04-03T05:35:50","modified_gmt":"2007-04-03T12:35:50","slug":"bushcheneygop-insider-excoriates-administration-in-new-book","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=4357","title":{"rendered":"Bush\/Cheney\/GOP Insider Excoriates Administration in New Book"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2007\/04\/01\/AR2007040101211_pf.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/HouseOfCards_Mess_Med.jpg\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\"><\/a>The deafening noise of scampering rats from the sinking ship continues.Following on the heels of Bush-Cheney&#8217;s chief &#8217;04 campaign strategist, Matthew Dowd, <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=4345\">over the weekend<\/a>, GOP insider and Bush\/Cheney family friend, Vic Gold, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2007\/04\/01\/AR2007040101211_pf.html\">unloads on the two to <i>WaPo<\/i><\/a> in advance of his new book, <em>Invasion of the Party Snatchers: How the Holy-Rollers and the Neo-Cons Destroyed the GOP<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Gold, who was asked by Lynn Cheney to write the profiles of both Bush and Cheney and their wives for the official commemorative 2000 Inauguration program tells <i>WaPo<\/i> today:<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">&#8220;For all the Rove-built facade of his being a &#8216;strong&#8217; chief executive, George W. Bush has been, by comparison to even hapless Jimmy Carter, the weakest, most out of touch president in modern times,&#8221; Gold writes. &#8220;Think Dan Quayle in cowboy boots.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>And on Cheney&#8230;<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">&#8220;A vice president in control is bad enough.
