{"id":3805,"date":"2006-11-17T15:50:58","date_gmt":"2006-11-17T23:50:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bradblog.com\/?p=3805"},"modified":"2006-11-17T15:57:16","modified_gmt":"2006-11-17T23:57:16","slug":"ap-at-least-5-us-house-races-still-undecided","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=3805","title":{"rendered":"AP: At Least 5 U.S. House Races Still Undecided&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We hate to rely on such questionable fringe sources as <i>Associated Press<\/i>, but for lack of time today, we&#8217;ll point to <a href=\"http:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/s\/ap\/20061117\/ap_on_el_ho\/unresolved_races\">their coverage<\/a> of the remaining &#8220;handful of close contests for the House&#8221; which are still undecided. <\/p>\n<p>The races that AP describes as &#8220;still in dispute&#8221; are in NM, NC, FL, and two in OH (naturally).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the completely obvious and <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=3801\">resignation-worthy mess<\/a> in the FL-13 race, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.BradBlog.com\">The BRAD BLOG<\/a> would draw particular attention to the less-discussed contest in New Mexico&#8217;s 1st Congressional district. We&#8217;ve been plowing through first-hand accounts sent our way detailing the <i>disasterous<\/i> state of conditions in the counting rooms out there where there&#8217;s a very close race between incumbent Rep. Heather Wilson (R) and her opponent Patricia Madrid (D).<\/p>\n<p>Based on the exceedingly detailed reports we&#8217;ve read so far of the (ahem) less-than-optimal-or-accurate <i>initial<\/i> tally of votes (yes, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bernco.gov\/live\/departments.asp?dept=2315&#038;submenuid=16524\">Bernalillo County<\/a>, we&#8217;re talking to <i>you<\/i>),  we&#8217;d suggest any recount of that race <i>must<\/i> be done as a complete <i>hand<\/i> count of all ballots in order to assure the final result actually resembles the intention of New Mexico&#8217;s voters.<\/p>\n<p>But we just may be radical that way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We hate to rely on such questionable fringe sources as Associated Press, but for lack of time today, we&#8217;ll point to their coverage of the remaining &#8220;handful of close contests for the House&#8221; which are still undecided.
