{"id":3094,"date":"2006-07-19T17:09:19","date_gmt":"2006-07-20T00:09:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bradblog.com\/?p=3094"},"modified":"2006-07-19T17:09:19","modified_gmt":"2006-07-20T00:09:19","slug":"daily-voting-news-for-july-19-2006","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=3094","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Daily Voting News&#8217; For July 19, 2006"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Guest Blogged by John Gideon of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.VotersUnite.org\">VotersUnite.org<\/a> and <a href= \"http:\/\/www.VoteTrustUSA.org\">VoteTrustUSA.Org<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.VotersUnite.org\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/DVNLogo.jpg\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\"><\/a>Today the House Science Committee held hearings on the voluntary voting systems guidelines (VVSG). &#8220;We&#8217;ve seen security defects that allow a single person with insider access and some technical knowledge could switch votes, perhaps undetected, and potentially swing an election,&#8221; Prof. David Wagner testified. &#8220;These problems should be weeded out by the independent testing process, but it is clear that this system isn&#8217;t working.&#8221; \/ &#8220;We&#8217;re looking at every aspect of elections,&#8221; said Donetta Davidson, a member of the Election Assistance Commission. &#8220;We haven&#8217;t found any problems with equipment. The problems we find are human error.
