Before any of them have even seen it, of course.<\/p>\n<p>The most frequent charge that I&#8217;ve heard is how ridiculous Moore is to suggest that the US Government helped hustle members of the Bin Laden family and other Saudi nationals out of the country on a few airplanes during the days following 9\/11 when all US air traffic had &#8212; otherwise &#8212; been grounded.<\/p>\n<p>Even the always believable, and close personal friend of the Bush&#8217;s, Saudi Ambassador Prince Bandar played along on <a href=\"http:\/\/msnbc.msn.com\/id\/4829855\/\" target=\"_blank\"><i>Meet the Press<\/i><\/a>:<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">But it is not true that [Saudis] were flying when Americans were not flying, Tim. Americans were flying and restrictions were lifted, but there were &#8212; I mean, the stoppage was lifted but there were restrictions. But think about it logically. Do you think &#8212;  where are we, in a Banana Republic?<\/div>\n<p>Yes, your highness, I believe we <i>are<\/i> in a Banana Republic. And of course, Michael Moore has been trying to tell us that for years now (see best-sellers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/1590072804\/qid=1086934921\/sr=2-3\/ref=sr_2_3\/102-2285518-9333711\" target=\"_blank\"><i>&#8220;Stupid White Men&#8221;<\/i><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0446532231\/qid=1086934302\/sr=8-1\/ref=pd_ka_1\/102-2285518-9333711?v=glance&#038;s=books&#038;n=507846\" target=\"_blank\"><i>&#8220;Dude, Where&#8217;s my Country?&#8221;<\/i><\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><i>The St. Petersberg Times<\/i> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saintpetersburgtimes.com\/2004\/06\/09\/Tampabay\/TIA_now_verifies_flig.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> yesterday that Tampa International Airport now <i>confirms<\/i> that the rumors are true:<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">Two days after the Sept. 11 attacks, with most of the nation&#8217;s air traffic still grounded, a small jet landed at Tampa International Airport, picked up three young Saudi men and left.<\/p>\n<p>The men, one of them thought to be a member of the Saudi royal family, were accompanied by a former FBI agent and a former Tampa police officer on the flight to Lexington, Ky.<\/p>\n<p>The Saudis then took another flight out of the country. The two ex-officers returned to TIA a few hours later on the same plane.<\/p>\n<p>For nearly three years, White House, aviation and law enforcement officials have insisted the flight never took place and have denied published reports and widespread Internet speculation about its purpose.<\/p>\n<p>But now, at the request of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks, TIA officials have confirmed that the flight did take place and have supplied details.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Busted.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what the former Tampa Police Department official, Dan Grossi, who was asked to escort the flight had to say about it:<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">&#8220;I&#8217;m over it,&#8221; he said in a telephone interview. &#8220;The White House, the FAA and the FBI all said the flight didn&#8217;t happen. Those are three agencies that are way over my head, and that&#8217;s why I&#8217;m done talking about it.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>Stunning.
