{"id":2273,"date":"2006-01-12T18:57:37","date_gmt":"2006-01-12T22:57:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.test.bradblog.com\/?p=2273"},"modified":"2006-01-12T18:57:37","modified_gmt":"2006-01-12T22:57:37","slug":"houston-tv-stations-roll-over-refuse-to-air-anti-delay-ads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=2273","title":{"rendered":"Houston TV Stations Roll Over, Refuse to Air Anti-DeLay Ads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/archives\/00002265.htm\">we reported yesterday<\/a>, indicted former House Majority Leader, Tom DeLay (R-TX) had threatened television stations with litigation if they dared to air a 30-second spot exposing his corruption and calling for him to resign.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ourfuture.org\/issues_and_campaigns\/accountablecongress\/index.cfm\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/TomDelay_SmilingClose.jpg\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"left\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.chron.com\/disp\/story.mpl\/politics\/3581596.html\">According to <i>House Chronicle<\/i><\/a> today, it looks like at least four Houston stations (DeLay&#8217;s home district),  have rolled over for the once-powerful (and apparently still powerful) Republican pol:<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">The four Houston television stations that sold airtime for a commercial criticizing U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay refused to air it Wednesday after objections from a DeLay lawyer, but the ad was accessible on cable channels and the Internet.<\/p>\n<p>The stations offered little or no rationale for their decisions, nor would they comment on whether the letter from DeLay campaign lawyer Don McGahn influenced them.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The ads, one for TV concerning DeLay, another for radio about the <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/archives\/00002261.htm\">soon-to-be-indicted<\/a> Rep.
