As former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay received troubling legal news<\/a> today in Texas where he’s been indicted on several charges related to money-laundering campaign contributions for Republican candidates, Fox “News” did their best to buck up the spirits of “The Hammer”.<\/p>\n

The judge in the case rejected DeLay’s motion to drop all charges, though he did toss out one charge for “conspiracy” which hadn’t yet been against the law in Texas at the time DeLay allegedly conspired. The decision now paves the way for the criminal trial to begin and for DeLay to be permanently replaced in his House leadership position.<\/p>\n
