Unfortunately, I reported from the wrong article. The room used was, in fact, the same hearing room that had been used in past meetings and there were members of the elections staff in attendance. What is important is that there were very few members of the public who defended the Diebold TSx and there were many from the disabled community who all spoke about the complete lack of accessibility provided by these machines. Thank you to all of those who pointed out my error. I would also like to take this opportunity to join my associate, Ellen Theisen, in wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. Please be safe and enjoy the holiday….

National: Democracy in America Has Officially Become a Privatized Circus LINK

AL: DeKalb County – Election issues remain unresolved (More vendor misinformation) LINK

CA: E-voting group invited to hack machines (Diebold) LINK

CT: No-Confidence Vote: A Trinity prof and the secretary of the state square off over new voting machines LINK

CT: New voting machines on the horizon LINK

CT: Newtown – Registrars’ Voting Machine Tryout Yields A Favorite (Danaher over Diebold and Avante) LINK

IL: Peoria – State’s Attorney: Peoria grand jury probing ties between Eugene Wittry, Election Board member, voting machine vendor (Populex) LINK

MI: Wayne County – Challenger to Seek Detroit Mayor Recount LINK

MO: Franklin County – County Gets Grant to Upgrade Voting Machines LINK

MS: Lincoln County – County gets much less than sought for voting LINK

NC: N.C. election training still not updated LINK

NC: Person County – State is telling the county that their precinct based op-scans may be decertified LINK

OH: Montgomery County – City of Carlisle to contest election LINK

TX: Galveston County – County buys new voting system (Hart Intercivic) LINK

TX: Fort Bend County – Translators at polls focus of inquiry by Justice Department LINK

TX: Bandera County – Voting canvass yields positive results, no inaccuracies found (Hart Intercivic – Canvass of a DRE shows no problems – Go figure!) LINK

VA: Panel defers decision on voting audit trails LINK

International: Venezuela’s Electoral Council Concedes to Many Opposition Demands LINK

**”Daily Voting News” is meant as a comprehensive listing of reports each day concerning issues related to election and voting news around the country regardless of quality or political slant.
