{"id":2026,"date":"2005-11-16T12:45:43","date_gmt":"2005-11-16T16:45:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.test.bradblog.com\/?p=2026"},"modified":"2005-11-16T12:45:43","modified_gmt":"2005-11-16T16:45:43","slug":"open-source-media-nee-pajamas-media-opens-for-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=2026","title":{"rendered":"Open Source Media (nee: Pajamas Media) Opens For Business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/osm.org\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/osm.jpg\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"left\"><\/a>They&#8217;ve already come under <a href=\"http:\/\/www.martinirepublic.com\/item\/crisis-management-player-to-back-pajamas-media\">some harsh criticism<\/a> (also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetalentshow.org\/archives\/002201.html\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/storyonly\/2005\/11\/16\/143746\/11\">here<\/a>) from the left for their far-right leaning Editorial Board and unbalanced collection of blogs, but the group previously known as Pajamas Media has opened for business-proper today under the name <a href=\"http:\/\/osm.org\">&#8220;Open Source Media&#8221;<\/a>.  Discredited former <i>NY Times<\/i> &#8220;journalist&#8221; Judith Miller was <a href=\"http:\/\/littlegreenfootballs.com\/weblog\/?entry=18261_Judith_Miller-_OSM_Keynote_Speaker&#038;only\">the keynote speaker<\/a> at their launch. (Both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.buzzmachine.com\/index.php\/2005\/11\/06\/its-about-trust\/\">BuzzMachine<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/storyonly\/2005\/10\/31\/195512\/32\">Kos<\/a> have some worthy thoughts on that).<\/p>\n<p>OSM was founded by rightwingers <a href=\"www.rogerlsimon.com\">Roger Simon<\/a> and Charles Johnson of <a href=\"http:\/\/littlegreenfootballs.com\/weblog\/\">Little Green Footballs<\/a>. The latter blogger, at least, being quite fond of disparaging his political opponents by <a href=\"http:\/\/littlegreenfootballs.com\/weblog\/?entry=18256_No_Debating_Their_Hatred&#038;only\">labeling them as &#8220;moonbats&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, and despite their currently massive lack of editorial &#8220;balance&#8221;, several of their staffers have claimed in various recent conversations I&#8217;ve had with them that they hope to change that hard right tilt in the near future. The proof, however, will remain in the blog pudding.<\/p>\n<p>During their testing phase, I participated in a &#8220;BlogJam&#8221; with three other bloggers for them. That&#8217;s their term for an online debate forum. The no-brainer topic about which we debated a week or two ago was &#8220;Are left-right politics becoming too polarized?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That debate is now <a href=\"http:\/\/pajamasmedia.com\/blogjam\/archives\/2005\/11\/are_leftright_politics_becomin_1.php\">available online here<\/a> as one of their first offerings.<\/p>\n<p>I had fun doing it, as you may be able to tell.
