He told Walters that he feels &#8220;terrible&#8221; about the claims he made in that now-infamous address &#8212; assertions that later proved to be false.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he feels it has tarnished his reputation, he said, &#8220;Of course it will. It&#8217;s a blot. I&#8217;m the one who presented it on behalf of the United States to the world, and [it] will always be a part of my record. It was painful. It&#8217;s painful now.&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Glad that Powell is <i>beginning<\/i> to come clean. Though somehow, we have a feeling that speech ended up being <i>much<\/i> more painful for hundreds of thousands of Americans and Iraqis who will <i>never<\/i> be able to shake the &#8220;pain&#8221; caused by Powell&#8217;s inability to stand up for his country instead of his blind &#8220;loyalty&#8221; to his boss.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, Powell additionally acknowledges that he&#8217;s never seen any connection between Saddam and 9\/11. As well, the article goes on to discuss Powell&#8217;s &#8220;loyalty&#8221; to the &#8220;President&#8221; instead of the country&#8230;<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">When Walters pressed Powell about that support, given the &#8220;mess&#8221; that the invasion has yielded, Powell said, &#8220;Who knew what the whole mess was going to be like?&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>Uh&#8230;Here we go again&#8230;Your old boss knew, Mr. Powell!<\/p>\n<div class=\"medianogreen\">&#8220;Had we gone the invasion route, the U.S. could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thememoryhole.org\/mil\/bushsr-iraq.htm\">George H.W.
