{"id":1800,"date":"2005-09-04T12:16:24","date_gmt":"2005-09-04T16:16:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.test.bradblog.com\/?p=1800"},"modified":"2005-09-04T12:16:24","modified_gmt":"2005-09-04T16:16:24","slug":"saddam-hussein-trial-set-for-october-19th","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=1800","title":{"rendered":"Saddam Hussein Trial Set For October 19th!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/archives\/new_orleans_body_cp_8364231.jpg\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\"><i>Guest blogged by <a href=\"http:\/\/psstpsstpsst.blogspot.com\" target=\"_blank\">Winter Patriot<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p>The following comparison is anecdotal and it&#8217;s circumstantial evidence at best, but look at what these three major North American news providers are feeding my hotmail news page (as of noon PT Sunday): <\/p>\n<p><b>from CBC<\/b> the #1 story is: <a href=\"http:\/\/sympatico.msn.cbc.ca\/story\/world\/national\/2005\/09\/04\/thousands-dead0904.html\" target=\"_blank\">U.S. must be prepared for what&#8217;s coming &#8211; thousands dead from Katrina<\/a> and the #2 story is &#8220;Rehnquist is dead&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><b>from CTV<\/b> the main headline reads: <a href=\"http:\/\/sympaticomsn.ctv.ca\/servlet\/ArticleNews\/story\/CTVNews\/1125832799269_61?hub=topstories\" target=\"_blank\">New Orleans death toll reaches the &#8216;thousands&#8217;<\/a>; and the second story is &#8220;Alberta sends more oil to US&#8221;, with the &#8220;Rehnquist dead&#8221; story 3rd<\/p>\n<p>but <b>from MSNBC<\/b> the lead story is about <b>the upcoming trial of Saddam Hussein!!!<\/b> Guess what? They&#8217;ve set a date!! No kidding! October 19th!!! <b>Can you  believe it???<\/b> That is SO INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT!! especially now, of course, since there&#8217;s nothing of greater significance going on! Or is there? <\/p>\n<p>Or is there?? Look! What have we here? The second story is a gripper: <b>&#8220;French Blaze Kills 14&#8221;<\/b> Wow! All of a sudden we care about France! We care so much about France &#8212; home of our timeless allies the cheese-eating surrender monkeys, after whom we so graciously named our favorite fastfood junkbomb, whose ancestors gave our ancestors the Statue of Liberty &#8230; yeah, those French people &#8230; the very same French people whom we have been always taught to love and respect &#8230; suffered fourteen deaths in a fire. How awful! How tragic! How utterly earth-shattering! Mind-bending important stuff, for sure, and right up there with the trial of Saddam Hussein.<\/p>\n<p>Third on the list, the minor little tragedy still unfolding in the USA. <\/p>\n<p>Who said &#8220;spin-meister&#8221;? <br \/>\nWho said &#8220;damage-control&#8221;? <br \/>\nWho said &#8220;Location, location, location&#8221;?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the 3rd ranked story from MSNBC: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/9166337\/\" target=\"_blank\">Storm exposed disarray at the top<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Who controls the selection of stories?<br \/>\nAnd who controls their placement?<br \/>\nIs this a deliberate dereliction of editorial duty??<br \/>\nOr is it just more of the same, more of the same, more of the same?? <\/p>\n<p>Who said &#8220;Media Whores&#8221;?? <br \/>\nWho said &#8220;The Horror!
