The statewide measure was approved by voters in a landslide just last week at the ballot box in response to <b>Texas<\/b> lawmakers&#8217; Trump-ordered gerrymander of their state&#8217;s already gerrymandered U.S. House map. It is likely to result in five &#8220;red&#8221; seats in CA turned &#8220;blue&#8221; in next year&#8217;s mid-year elections. But Trump&#8217;s corrupt Attorney General, <b>Pam Bondi<\/b>, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-sues-governor-gavin-newsom-californias-race-based-redistricting-plan\">announcement<\/a> of DOJ joining the suit, hilariously <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/california-redistricting-justice-department-lawsuit-025b00f0b3490a5fa8219c4376bcb9d2?utm_source=onesignal&#038;utm_medium=push&#038;utm_campaign=2025-11-13-Breaking+News#\">characterized<\/a> the voter approved measure as &#8220;a brazen power grab that tramples on civil rights and mocks the democratic process.&#8221; She is very concerned that it will &#8220;entrench one-party rule and silence millions of Californians&#8221;. Specifically, <i>white<\/i> Californians. When the suit was originally filed last week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/11\/newsom-prop-50-lawsuit-republicans-1236608016\/\">response<\/a> from Newsom&#8217;s office: &#8220;Good luck, losers.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The longest federal government <b>shutdown<\/b> in U.S. history is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/congress\/house-vote-bill-end-government-shutdown-longest-ever-snap-flights-rcna243438\">now over<\/a>. At least until the end of January. We detail all the loose ends, takeaways as we head into another election year, and how the Congressional <b>Democrats<\/b>&#8216; fight to restore massive Trump\/GOP cuts to health care that will spike costs for tens of millions of Americans by January 1 is continuing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>All of that, as Trump&#8217;s approval numbers continue to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-poll-approval-government-shutdown-apnorc-9daa3f130fedc9cf9b5acf3de31e93f4#\">plummet<\/a>. She defeated the Democratic establishment supported incumbent <b>Bruce Harrell<\/b> while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/11\/11\/progressive-activist-seattle-mayors-race-00647423\">running on an affordability agenda<\/a> being compared to Mayor-elect <b>Zohran Mamdani<\/b>&#8216;s in NYC.
