{"id":1311,"date":"2005-04-08T01:00:11","date_gmt":"2005-04-08T05:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.test.bradblog.com\/?p=1311"},"modified":"2005-04-08T01:00:11","modified_gmt":"2005-04-08T05:00:11","slug":"politicians-promise-to-tell-the-truth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=1311","title":{"rendered":"Politicians Promise To Tell The Truth!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Guest Blogged by <a href=\"http:\/\/winterpatriot.blogspot.com\" target=\"_blank\">Winter Patriot<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<p>It will be interesting to see how long <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/uk_politics\/vote_2005\/frontpage\/4419723.stm\" target=\"_blank\">this<\/a> will last:<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">The anti-war Respect coalition has launched its election campaign with a promise that its candidates will always be honest with voters.<\/p>\n<p>The party, which was formed last year by former Labour MP George Galloway, says it &#8220;told the truth about Iraq&#8221; and will continue to do so on other issues.<\/p>\n<p>Respect is contesting 30 seats in England and Wales at the election.<\/p>\n<p>A spokeswoman said: &#8220;We&#8217;re not a single issue party and will be fighting for pensions and against privatisation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Electric atmosphere&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>More than 700 people attended the party&#8217;s election launch in London&#8217;s Bishopsgate on Wednesday night, and gave Mr Galloway&#8217;s speech a standing ovation.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Galloway, who was expelled from Labour for comments about the Iraq war, is standing against pro-Iraq war Labour MP Oona King in Bethnal and Bow.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Good luck, George!
