[<i>Audio link to show is posted below.<\/i>]<\/p>\n<p>Among the stories covered on today&#8217;s program&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The legal offices and residences of Donald Trump&#8217;s personal friend, business partner, attorney and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/politics\/la-na-pol-michael-cohen-fbi-raid-20180409-story.html\">&#8220;fixer&#8221;<\/a> Michael Cohen were <a href=\"https:\/\/m.nytimes.com\/2018\/04\/09\/us\/politics\/fbi-raids-office-of-trumps-longtime-lawyer-michael-cohen.html\">raided<\/a> by the U.S. Attorney in Manhattan today just before airtime. Cohen&#8217;s attorney claims some of the information used to obtain the warrant came from Robert Mueller&#8217;s Special Counsel probe. Cohen has recently come under legal scrutiny for his part in a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels to keep an affair between her and Trump quiet just before the 2016 election. Trump is said to be furious, and <a href=\"https:\/\/talkingpointsmemo.com\/livewire\/after-fbi-raids-cohens-office-trump-calls-probe-an-attack-on-our-country\">described<\/a> the investigation as &#8220;disgraceful&#8221; and &#8220;an attack on our country&#8221; after news of the FBI raid on Cohen&#8217;s office became public on Monday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>That comes after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apnews.com\/5a270046c5d6487c892b85fd761b91fd\">longtime tenant died<\/a> in a massive four-alarm blaze on the 50th floor of Trump Tower in Manhattan over the weekend, following Trump having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/2018\/04\/trump-fought-fire-legislation-refused-install-sprinklers-residential-floors-trump-tower\/\">reportedly<\/a> spent years fighting against requirements for mandatory fire sprinklers on the residential floors of his namesake tower and headquarters of the Trump Organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Also today, some good news (and bad) for voters. In Maryland, the state&#8217;s Republican Governor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motherjones.com\/politics\/2018\/04\/maryland-just-took-a-huge-step-for-protecting-voting-rights-automatic-registration\/\">allowed<\/a> a bill for automatic voter registration to becoome law without his signature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>California <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/politics\/essential\/la-pol-ca-essential-politics-updates-california-teenagers-preregister-voting-1523032069-htmlstory.html\">announced<\/a> it has now had 100,000 16- and 17-year olds pre-register to vote, after a 2016 state law was enacted to allow for early registration by teens. A flurry of those pre-registrations, according to CA Sec. of State Alex Padilla, have reportedly come in the wake of the &#8216;March for Our Lives&#8217; activism by the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, following the February gun massacre at their school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>And, speaking of elections and the Sunshine State, Republican Gov. Rick Scott <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/states\/florida\/story\/2018\/04\/09\/scott-running-for-senate-in-epic-showdown-with-nelson-test-of-trumps-popularity-354385\">announced<\/a> his candidacy for the U.S. Senate on Monday, in his long-expected bid to unseat incumbent Democratic Senator Bill Nelson.  The race is expected to be one of the most expensive U.S. Senate races in the nation&#8217;s history.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Scott&#8217;s announcement comes just days after he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/florida-politics\/buzz\/2018\/04\/04\/gov-scott-appeals-judges-ruling-on-voting-rights-for-felons\/\">appealed<\/a> a ruling by a federal judge ordering him to reform the state&#8217;s procedures for restoring voting rights to some 1.5 million former felons.
