{"id":12400,"date":"2017-12-08T18:17:22","date_gmt":"2017-12-09T02:17:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=12400"},"modified":"2017-12-08T18:16:14","modified_gmt":"2017-12-09T02:16:14","slug":"former-co-gop-chair-guilty-of-voter-fraud-and-other-ironies-and-outrages-bradcast-1282017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=12400","title":{"rendered":"Former CO GOP Chair Guilty of Voter Fraud and Other Ironies and Outrages: &#8216;BradCast&#8217; 12\/8\/2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/BradCast_SteveCurtisCOGOPChair_120817.jpg\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\">Among the stories covered on today&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/BradCast\"><i>BradCast<\/i><\/a>&#8230;with no small amount of gusto and an occasional comedic turn in an otherwise dark (and smokey) world&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Devastating wildfires <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/2a40340afec94fc68a0668e14b1812dd\/Flames-engulf-San-Diego-area-in-newest-wildfires\">spread<\/a> down the Southern California coast toward San Diego, in a record wildfire season that has lasted all the way into winter, as <a href=\"http:\/\/grist.org\/article\/the-first-wintertime-megafire-in-california-history-is-here\/?utm_content=buffer09eda&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_source=twitter.com&#038;utm_campaign=buffer\">predicted<\/a> by scientists at least a decade ago. Alas, few heeded their warnings<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Clearly <i>not<\/i> heeding such warnings is Donald Trump who, according to a new <a href=\"http:\/\/talkingpointsmemo.com\/news\/trump-science-nominees-fewer-credentials-obama-predecesssors\">AP analysis<\/a>, is failing to appoint actual <em>scientists<\/em> to scores of Senate-confirmable, top scientific positions at multiple important federal agencies, from the EPA to the Energy Dept. to the White House itself;<\/li>\n<li>The former Chair of the CO Republican Party turned rightwing radio host, Steve Curtis, had claimed before last year&#8217;s election that &#8220;virtually every case of voter fraud I can remember in my lifetime was committed by Democrats.&#8221; Well, he was proven wrong in court this week as he, himself, is found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedenverchannel.com\/news\/politics\/former-colorado-gop-chairman-steve-curtis-found-guilty-of-voter-fraud-forgery\">guilty<\/a> of&#8230;.you guessed it. (His failed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greeleytribune.com\/news\/crime\/diabetes-stroke-and-other-health-problems-beset-former-gop-chairman-accused-of-voter-fraud-he-says-in-weld-district-court\/\">excuse<\/a> for it is equally astonishing.)<\/li>\n<li>And, speaking of&#8230;on the eve of Tuesday&#8217;s much-watched U.S. Senate special election in Alabama, multi-partisan Election Integrity advocates <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1iLECZaH2x7O95INn52y-j7fUMYM75R_9\/view\">file suit<\/a> to force the state to retain &#8220;ballot images&#8221; from the state&#8217;s paper ballot digital-scanners. <i>New York Daily News&#8217;<\/i> Editorial Board <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/opinion\/bama-ballot-blindness-electronic-images-retained-article-1.3684355\">joins them<\/a> in that call&#8230;for very good reason. (My interview several days ago with the longtime election integrity champ, John Brakey, who helped organize the lawsuit and effort, is <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=12395\">right here<\/a>.)<\/li>\n<li>After a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/11\/05\/health\/deadliest-mass-shootings-in-modern-us-history-trnd\/index.html\">spate<\/a> of mass <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/cda9a48176254faebf9e657b8f182110\/New-Mexico-school-shooter-left-note-plotting-attack,-suicide\">shootings<\/a>, Congress <i>finally<\/i> moves some gun legislation forward, as Republicans in the U.S. House do the bidding of their terrorist-enabling NRA masters in passing a bill to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/054b8462a9b2494a9ab72aff83dec70b\"><i>expand<\/i><\/a> the right to carry concealed deadly weapons into states whose laws prohibit it;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, finally today, we end with some listener e-mail on a few of the topics we&#8217;ve covered on recent shows from guns to the Democratic Party to Trump\/Russia&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\".\/Images\/Speaker_Icon_24.png\" style=\"width: 24px;
