[<i>Audio link to show follows below.<\/i>]\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/fdd9b7c277ac4eb29da322e33afd4942\">comments<\/a> from unnamed White House sources<\/a> today that President Donald Trump <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/05\/31\/politics\/trump-paris-accord\/index.html\">plans<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-usa-climatechange-trump-idUSKBN18R1J4\">withdraw<\/a> from the landmark U.N. Paris Climate Agreement are ricocheting across the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/05\/30\/europe\/merkel-europe-fate-modi-india\/index.html\">globe<\/a>. But will he really drop out? If so, what do <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/8b34367154aa4a06be8b746f3fd12795\">leaders<\/a> from the rest of the world &#8212; friend and foe &#8212; have to <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/a1ac18d5df4546ddb6450ca377301434\">say<\/a> about it?  What do leaders <a href=\"http:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/politicians-environmental-groups-react-idea-us-leave-paris\/story?id=47744197\">here<\/a> in the U.S. think? What do senior members of <i>his own<\/i> administration think? What will Trump&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/climatecommunication.yale.edu\/publications\/trump-voters-global-warming\/\">own voters<\/a> think?<\/p>\n<p>And how can it be that Republicans have been so wrong, for so long, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2017\/05\/29\/opinions\/withdraw-paris-accord-opinion-cruz\/index.html\">even now<\/a>, on the issue, including over the past decade when they insisted over and again that China and India would never be willing to cut emissions? (Both countries <i>are<\/i> willing and have each reaffirmed their commitment to the pact, despite Trump&#8217;s threats to get out.)<\/p>\n<p>How would the decision <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/a96d26f80df141ecb7d4851bb3ae6f48\">effect<\/a> both the global climate itself and the United States&#8217; standing in the world? What are the costs financially of ceding leadership on issues of energy and climate, particularly at a moment when the costs of renewable energy like wind and solar are absolutely <a href=\"https:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/renewables-cheapest-new-power-globally-74910c78bbbe\">plummeting<\/a> and even many fossil fuel companies (and even some coal companies!) are both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediamatters.org\/blog\/2017\/05\/31\/Here-are-the-oil-and-coal-companies-Fortune-500-corporations-and-Republicans-who-want-to-s\/216719\">recognizing<\/a> the dangers of global warming <i>and<\/i> encouraging Trump to stay in the agreement with nearly 200 other nations?<\/p>\n<p>What are Trump&#8217;s legal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/science\/archive\/2016\/11\/the-problem-with-abandoning-the-paris-agreement\/508085\/\">options<\/a> for getting out of the pact, and what the hell explains his grievance and bizarre affection for the dying and dirty coal industry, anyway?
