{"id":113,"date":"2004-04-30T13:57:23","date_gmt":"2004-04-30T17:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.test.bradblog.com\/?p=113"},"modified":"2004-04-30T13:57:23","modified_gmt":"2004-04-30T17:57:23","slug":"more-from-bizarro-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=113","title":{"rendered":"More from Bizarro World"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/BushTouch.jpg\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" align=\"right\">One of the oddest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tucsoncitizen.com\/breaking\/042904_bush.html\" target=\"_blank\">comments to the press from Dubya<\/a> after his joint meeting with Dick Cheney before the 9\/11 Commission in the Oval Office, was not: &#8220;I answered every question they asked.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nor was it: &#8220;I enjoyed it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nor, after finally bowing to political pressure to meet with them at all, this statement: &#8220;&#8230;if we had something to hide, we wouldn&#8217;t have met with them in the first place.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>No, the oddest moment as it struck me was this response to a question posed on the value of meeting jointly with Dick Cheney, despite critic&#8217;s charges that it was done so they could keep their stories straight and the Commission&#8217;s request to to interview him alone like every other President who&#8217;s ever testified before such a committee: &#8220;I think it was important for them to see our body language&#8230;how we work together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Not certain how that&#8217;s &#8220;important&#8221; to the Commission, but then I&#8217;m not on it. It did, however, hit me as strange.
