A Letter to the Editor on Saturday in Louisville’s Courier-Journal<\/i>…<\/a><\/p>\n

Here is an enlightening little quiz. Guess the source of these quotations:<\/p>\n

1. Congress should “authorize separate federal matching of state and local expenditures for the medical care needed by public assistance recipients.”<\/p>\n

2. “To guarantee adequate financing of health care on a nationwide basis,” we need a “comprehensive health insurance plan (to) offer to every American the same broad and balanced health protection.”<\/p>\n

No, not Barack Obama. The answers are: 1. Dwight Eisenhower and 2. Richard Nixon who, today, would be called “socialists” and drummed out of the GOP.<\/p>\n

Today we have only moderate Republicans – whom we now call Democrats – and the Tea Party.<\/p>\n

Or, as I prefer to call them, the cowards and the bullies.<\/p>\n
