You see, Ted Cruz isn’t a candidate. He’s a strategy.<\/p>\n

Whether he is doing so intentionally or not, constantly forcing the political discourse to the farthest right makes a small compromise — or a Scott Walker or a Jeb Bush — look moderate in comparison. Thus Cruz enables his competitors to point at him and say, “See? At least I’m not THAT crazy.”<\/p>\n

Take the most extreme conservative position on any issue, move over half a step, call your new position ‘centrist’. It may be an accident… or it may be the plan. <\/p>\n
