{"id":10759,"date":"2014-08-14T06:02:46","date_gmt":"2014-08-14T13:02:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bradblog.com\/?p=10759"},"modified":"2014-08-23T18:17:19","modified_gmt":"2014-08-24T01:17:19","slug":"news-summer-from-hell-continues-kpfk-bradcast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=10759","title":{"rendered":"News Summer From Hell Continues: KPFK &#8216;BradCast&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/BradCast_Obama_Yazidis_081314.jpg\" hspace=\"6\" vspace=\"3\" border=\"0\" align=\"right\">On this week&#8217;s <i>BradCast<\/i> on <a href=\"http:\/\/kpfk.org\">KPFK<\/a>\/<a href=\"http:\/\/PacificaNetwork.org\">Pacifica Radio<\/a>, I invited peace activist <a href=\"http:\/\/DavidSwanson.org\">David Swanson<\/a> to explain to me why it&#8217;s wrong for the U.S. to take military action in Iraq amidst what the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vox.com\/2014\/8\/7\/5981449\/president-obamas-full-statement-on-the-iraq-crisis\">President describes<\/a> as &#8220;genocide&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>David is a friend, <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?author=8\">occassional guest blogger here<\/a>, and author of <a href=\"http:\/\/davidswanson.org\/warisalie\"><i>War is a Lie<\/i><\/a> (2007), <a href=\"http:\/\/davidswanson.org\/outlawry\"><i>When the World Outlawed War<\/i><\/a> (2011) and <a href=\"http:\/\/davidswanson.org\/warnomore\"><i>War No More: The Case for Abolition<\/i><\/a> (2013).<\/p>\n<p>I pressed him and he offered a smart, persuasive, and <a href=\"http:\/\/davidswanson.org\/node\/4485\">well-reasoned case<\/a>. Yet, I&#8217;m still not certain that I&#8217;m persuaded. Bush appointee) has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenation.com\/blog\/180935\/north-carolina-becomes-latest-casualty-supreme-courts-voting-rights-act-decision#\">allowed to move forward<\/a> for now; and the remarkable story of federal judge Mark Fuller &#8212; who helped railroad former AL Gov.
