It&#8217;s so morally obtuse that you have to assume they are trying in some fashion to gain absolution for their bloodthirsty insistence on taking revenge against a nation that didn&#8217;t attack America.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Lord knows Digby&#8217;s far smarter than me about such things, and her point is certainly an interesting one. Though it assumes the morally bankrupt &#8212; not &#8220;obtuse&#8221;, <i>bankrupt<\/i> &#8212; people in question have any sense of self-awareness whatsoever.<\/p>\n<p>To date, I&#8217;ve seen no evidence of that.<\/p>\n<p><center><b>* * *<\/b><\/center><\/p>\n<p><i><b>UPDATE:<\/b><\/i> Case in point&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/climate\/2014\/05\/08\/3435147\/climate-assessment-coverage\/\">From ClimateProgress&#8230;<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"media\">On Tuesday, the federal government released the <a href=\"http:\/\/nca2014.globalchange.gov\/\">National Climate Assessment<\/a> (NCA), the definitive account of climate change&#8217;s already-occurring impacts on the U.S., and of how those impacts will only be felt more acutely as time goes on.<\/p>\n<p>So, how did the cable news networks cover it?<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/BradBlog.com\/Images\/NationalClimateAssessment_MediaCoverage_Benghazi.jpg\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;&#8221;The White House releases a dire report on climate change,&#8221; Laura Ingraham announced as guest-host of the O&#8217;Reilly Factor, &#8220;Is it trying to distract its critics from Benghazi and other problems?&#8221; She did not clarify during the course of the segment that a 1990 Congressional mandate required that the assessment be released every four years.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News coverage did not discuss the contents of the report, focusing instead on disputing the reality of climate change, disputing the possibility of addressing it, and labeling the assessment a distraction or gift to Obama&#8217;s supporters intended to help Democrats in November&#8217;s midterm elections.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><center><b>* * *<\/b><\/center><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>UPDATE 2:<\/strong><\/em> Okay.
