It might be easy to laugh him off as just another disinformed NRA stooge, except for his status as <i>the Police Chief<\/i> &#8212; and only member of the force &#8212; in the small town of Gilberton, PA.<\/p>\n<p>As seen in the first of the videos below, super genius Chief Mark Kessler calls Vietnam war hero, long-time U.S. Senator and now Sec. of State John Kerry a &#8220;piece of shit traitor&#8221; before continuing with a long string of expletives followed by a long burst from his very manly automatic weapon.  But none of that is really the offensive part. <\/p>\n<p>The offensive part is that a Police Chief (or, anyone, frankly) would be so duped by National Rifle Association (NRA) propaganda that they&#8217;d actually believe a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/disarmament\/ATT\/\">U.N. Arms Trade Treaty<\/a> designed to keep arms out of the hands of despotic regimes, human rights abusers, warlords, pirates and drug lords around the world, is designed for &#8212; or would even allow for &#8212; arms to be taken away from the American public or to specifically undermine the 2nd Amendment.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s Gilberton&#8217;s genius Police Chief &#8220;informing&#8221; his followers. [<i>NOT SAFE FOR WORK!<\/i>]&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe width=\"420\" height=\"236\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_QQW0RswpQ4\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>For NRA patsies like Kessler, much less a Police Chief, to be dumb enough, or incurious enough, to not have already learned this on their own, the UN treaty he references (which would <i>still<\/i> need to be ratified by the U.S. Senate, even if signed by either Kerry or the President of the United States, before it had the force of law), specifically <i>exempts<\/i> the internal domestic laws of countries that are parties to the treaty.<\/p>\n<p>As clearly noted on <i>the very first page<\/i> of its preamble, the <a href=\"http:\/\/treaties.un.org\/doc\/Treaties\/2013\/04\/20130410%2012-01%20PM\/Ch_XXVI_08.pdf#page=21\">Arms Trade Treaty [PDF]<\/a> reads:<\/p>\n<div class=\"media\"><i>The States Parties to this Treaty, Guided<\/i> by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations&#8230;<b><i>Reaffirming<\/i> the sovereign right of any State to regulate and control conventional arms exclusively within its territory, pursuant to its own legal or constitutional system&#8230;<\/b><\/div>\n<p>It all seems pretty clear, to those able to read, anyway. But that didn&#8217;t stop the <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=9426\">terrorist-enabling<\/a> NRA&#8217;s top spokeshole and con-man, Wayne LaPierre, from disinforming the public, his membership, and dupes like Kessler, by loudly proclaiming the treaty does precisely the <i>opposite<\/i> of what the treaty actually says&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am here to announce NRA&#8217;s strong opposition to anti-freedom policies that disregard American citizens right to self-defense,&#8221; con-man <a href=\"https:\/\/bradblog.com\/?p=9447\">LaPierre lied during UN testimony<\/a> on the treaty last year. &#8220;We will not stand idly by while international organizations, whether state-based or stateless, attempt to undermine the fundamental liberties our men and women in uniform have fought so bravely to preserve&#8230;and on which our entire American system of government is based&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>After his testimony, LaPierre continued lying to reporters outside the UN building: &#8220;We are not gonna let our great American freedoms be reduced to some global lowest common denominator,&#8221; he bravely explained. &#8220;We are not gonna submit American freedoms to these globalist vultures that will reduce American freedom to a hollow shell. We are not gonna let that happen, we are gonna fight it and we&#8217;re gonna defeat it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>LaPierre has since gone on to <a href=\"http:\/\/mediamatters.org\/blog\/2012\/07\/05\/nras-arms-treaty-hysteria-too-much-even-for-fo\/186956\">disinform Fox &#8220;News&#8221; stooges like Kessler<\/a> that the proposed treaty &#8220;says to people in the United States &#8216;turn over your personal protection and your firearms to the government&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And, as designed, incurious suckers like Kessler, apparently, bought LaPierre&#8217;s horseshit hook, line and sinker.<\/p>\n<p>Either that, or they just accepted, as fact, the mass emails that were sent around about this, hoping to fool clowns like Kessler, despite the fact that, as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snopes.com\/politics\/guns\/untreaty.asp\">Snopes notes in debunking the widely circulated emails<\/a>: &#8220;The Arms Trade Treaty has nothing to do with restricting the legal sale or ownership of guns within the United States.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The video above, and a few of Kessler&#8217;s other manly videos &#8212; particularly one in which he pretends to &#8220;apologize&#8221; for the language used in his video about Kerry above, and another in which he uses a poster of a clown, who he describes as &#8220;Nancy Pelosi&#8221;, for target practice while in uniform &#8212; have now <a href=\"http:\/\/livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com\/entry\/police-chief-who-made-youtube-videos-firing-guns?ref=fpblg\">earned Kessler a 30-day suspension<\/a> without pay from the Borough of Gilberton.<\/p>\n<p>How <i>any<\/i> one of his videos didn&#8217;t earn him full termination, however, long ago &#8212; so that he would be free to go on a gun-toting, mass murdering rampage in defense of his &#8220;freedom&#8221; &#8212; is beyond me.<\/p>\n<p><center><b>* * *<\/b><\/center><\/p>\n<p><i>Two of Gilberton, PA Police Chief Mark Kessler&#8217;s similarly inane videos, one particularly unhinged, deriding &#8220;all you fucking Libtards out there&#8221;, and another offering advice on how to best shoot &#8220;Nancy Pelosi&#8221;, follow below.
