Guest Blogged by John Gideon, of VotersUnite and VoteTrustUSA
The “DVN Top 5” is a feature in the weekly voting newsletter of VoteTrustUSA. The December 26 edition can be found here. The selection of what will be the “Top 5” for each week and where it goes on the list is all mine. The fact that you may disagree with my choices is great because it shows that you have been reading the DVN articles that I’ve posted throughout the week here on The BRAD BLOG!…
VotersUnite! is happy to join the Action Alert from VoteTrustUSA and ask that the EAC do their job and demand that the ITA reinspect the Diebold software looking for banned ‘interpreted’ code. Diebold has admitted that it is there. Now the ITA needs to find it and, if necessary, withdraw the qualification of Diebold software until the ‘interpreted’ software is removed. So far 19 organizations have signed the VoteTrustUSA petition. Concerned citizens have sent 1775 emails and 215 letters so far. (See #1 Below for more information)
#5 – This week has found states reporting that they are not going to meet the federal HAVA mandates. This failure, in most of the failing states, is due to their not having the mandated state voter registration data base ready to go. Colorado is one of those states and the failure can be directly attributed to a failure by Accenture. This issue was reported last week by The Denver Channel and The Rocky Mountain News
#4 – Connecticut is another one of those states that is in danger of missing the deadline. They are one of the last of the lever-machine holdouts. Elections officials and voters are not happy that they have to give up their much beloved voting machines for something new. The Litchfield County Times reports that one election official repeated the old adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” This adage seems funny when you consider that in Middletown a complete new election has to be held due to a lever-machine that has been in use but broken for the last 5 years. This was reported in the Middletown Press
#3 – The voters in Westmoreland County, PA received a blow this last week when they learned that their County Commissioners were going to ignore the will of the voters, who were never given an opportunity to speak on this issue. The County Commissioners, instead, voted to purchase ES&S iVotronic DREs. 15-year poll worker and voting activist, Marybeth Kuznik, revealed the beginning of a 10-county voting activist group and their “yes-we-do-care-and-you-never-even-asked-us” campaign, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
#2 – Last week it was revealed that California SoS McPherson sent a letter to ES&S threatening them with decertification if they did not fix some problems with their voting systems used in the state. This letter had been sent 5 weeks earlier but was just revealed. Of course keeping this secret was not a good thing but then this week, suddenly, McPherson told the ES&S counties that all is well and there are no concerns any longer. There was no report of why the problem was a problem, why it was kept secret, or what was done to fix the problem.
#1 – A National Action Alert was put out this past week with the revelations of Diebold software problems and the admitted presence of federally banned ‘interpreted’ code on their voting machines. The Action Alert asks citizens to send an email to the Election Assistance Commission commissioners and the Independent Test Authority Secretariat to demand that they do their job and insist that the ITA does its job in decertifying the Diebold software until such time as the banned software is removed.

John: Aggregate companies like Accenture are even more crooked than Diebold. While fighting to ensure the removal of the machines someone needs to fight Accenture as well, to make sure their source code is controlled by the state and viewed before they ever use it for vote registration again.
Doug E.
DougE. – It looks like Accenture is doing it all to themselves. Colorado is only one state where they failed to meet their contract. I believe Minn. or Wis. has also kicked them out.
Lets stay dilligent, Accenture was a company called Arthur Anderson Consulting not long ago and helped in the collapse of ENRON, via Russian Israelis, Cheney, & the mafia.

To comment #2: A Democrat majority will not happen because of electronic voting machines. I posted an article (I can’t find now) which analyzed all the Senate elections, and the exit polls said in the last election that the Democrats won the majority, but the "final count" on electronic machines came in Republican. All the exit poll swings were from Dem to GOP. Again, millions-to-one odds that ALL errors favored one party, the GOP.
Now, it’s not blatant, they steal key elections, like the presidency, because the president gets to pick (we don’t elect) a cabinet, so that’s the most important one to steal. They can’t steal them all and have a 100-0 majority, or that would be obvious. They will continue stealing elections to retain a permanent Republican majority in the House and Senate, and always steal the presidency.
They stole the Schmidt vs. Hackett election, because that would’ve been too big of a blow to have an anti-war Dem defeat a Republican in a highly Republican district.
I’m predicting that even though the polls say Casey has a double-digit lead in Pa., it will be Santorum 51%-Casey 49% via electronic machines.
Electronic machines = Corporate America = the Republicans.
You want to connect the dots?
Ambramoff -> Corporate America -> electronic voting machines -> vote suppression of the anti-Republican vote -> the Republicans -> Rove.
We didn’t vote in a Republican majority. Rove’s "permanent Republican majority" can only be achieved by electronic voting machines.

Don’t make the mistake of assuming the fraud goes in one direction…it only favors the corrupt GOP in congressional/president races, it favors the corrupt democrats, especially Hillary, in all of the LOCAL races…
And there are thousands of local races….Literally THOUSANDS… However it depends on the state as well.
The point is the fraud is beneficial only to the NEOCONS period, so the machines must be permanently barred……there is only ONE service they are ultimately serving. We will correct this with BOTH parties…
Doug E.
And don’t forget the potential for use of fraud in primary elections. (And not just for the presidency.)
I’ve read more stories about republicans losing the primary to neocons, and independents, and even LIBERTARIANS in the last 6 months than I’ve read in well over 6 years!!!
Catherine’s assumption is correct that this stretches over both sides deliberately. It is a corrosive, abusive pattern of corruption. And only with honest politicians like Barbara Boxer, Debra Bowen, Ron Paul taking a stand against it in mass will it be defeated. They do not want to lose the control of electing anyone the corporations want, that’s how they got all the Clintons, Emanuel, and I’m sure even Barack Obama or Conrad Burns no matter what kind of legitimacy their seats seem to have.
I just notice if someone is tied to special interests, they are 90% more likely to steal or have their seats stolen on their behalf.

Apparently the Iraqi election won’t be tallied for up to two weeks to give investigators time to respond to complaints of voter fraud and other inconsistencies.
My question: Why the hell couldn’t we do this here in the US…in 2000…in 2004?????
Does this mean that Iraq will actually have MORE of a democracy than we do. It wouldn’t surprise me at this point.

In Bush’s america, apparently everything that doesn’t make sense is a "conspiracy-theory"
He even calls them that on television. I guess we can’t even demand real investigations in our own USA because its a conspiracy theory?

I will make a brief post just to see how long it lasts. As I previously pointed out I have Fed Hacker Goons that travel with me. They have high tech powers and little or no character. So I will chck back and see how long this post lasts.
