KING'S CHALLENGE
If you’re looking for your annual fix of inspirational quotes as this year’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day approaches, I’ve got you covered. You’re going to have to ask yourself, though, whether you’re up to King’s challenge, whether you can take to heart the words he spoke only four days before he was gunned down:
“FIRST, WE ARE CHALLENGED TO DEVELOP A WORLD PERSPECTIVE... We must all learn to live together as brothers or we will all perish together as fools. . .
WE ARE CHALLENGED TO RID OUR NATION AND THE WORLD OF POVERTY. Like a monstrous octopus, poverty spreads its nagging, prehensile tentacles into hamlets and villages all over our world. . .
AS I NOTICED THESE THINGS, SOMETHING WITHIN ME CRIED OUT, "CAN WE IN AMERICA STAND IDLY BY AND NOT BE CONCERNED?" And an answer came: "Oh no!" ... Ultimately a great nation is a compassionate nation.
AMERICA HAS NOT MET ITS OBLIGATIONS AND ITS RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE POOR... "...If ye do it unto the least of these, my brethren, ye do it unto me." That’s the question facing America today."
(The full text of Dr. King’s sermon entitled “Remaining Awake Through a Great Revolution” containing the above quotes can be read here: http://tinyurl.com/82npj . Dr. King delivered it at the National Cathedral, Washington, D.C., on March 31, 1968, and you can listen to two audio excerpts of the sermon at that same link.)
Today, forty years after Dr. King gave that sermon, 41 percent of humanity still defecate in the streets because they have no access to sanitation, one-quarter are forced to live without electricity, and 30,000 kids DIE UNNECESSARILY EACH DAY (see my website for the proof, along with an article about the statistical accuracy of such numbers generally at http://tinyurl.com/yttp3s ). If you are indeed up for King’s challenge, you’ll need to seek out that world perspective he spoke about and get the real front page news on your own, because news which affects the largest number of people in the most serious ways is only rarely covered by television shows and newspapers!! This website, www.WhatNewsShouldBe.com, is one of the places you can find it. It is only when information concerning the most pressing issues facing humanity is widely known that the needless death and suffering can be stopped. There is enough for everyone: http://tinyurl.com/ytmfd3. Please pass it on. Thank you and Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

Obama loses exactly 100 votes in wilton. Clinton gains 1. I think Edwards was down 1 or 2. Strange.

My favorite MLK quote applies to nearly everyone who is a part of this blog, and certainly to every EI person doing their damndest to bring transparency and accountability in New Hampshire. Here is his quote:
“A time comes when silence is betrayal. Even when pressed by the demands of inner truth, men do not easily assume the task of opposing their government’s policy, especially in time of war. Nor does the human spirit move without great difficulty against all the apathy of conformist thought, within ones’ own bosom and in the surrounding world.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
And of course, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
And then there is my least favorite quote, from someone at the far end of the spectrum from MLK, “Of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it’s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.” - Reichsmarshall Herman Goering, Nuremberg Trials, 18 April 1946
Let us expose the bonfires of the vanities, first in New Hampshire. And then all throughout the United States. Let us see the emperor without any clothes. And let us look away in disgust, and start a new government based on transparency and accountability, and certainly NOT on trust. For if we do not, my least favorite quote will become a reality before the public ever wakes up!

Agent 99 - you're better when you're "bad", so please don't blog responsibly any time soon. When you declared "I'm revolting", I would have choked on something had I been eating. Thank you. Maybe I'll read your next quip over my lunch and laugh a wayward piece of almond or carrot down the old windpipe. There are worse things-- like a good long life with George and Dick.

#5 & 6 I was looking at the Nader recount in 2004.
[snip]
"The hand count of a third precinct showed roughly 100 fewer presidential votes than the optical-scan machines had, and will likely have to be recounted yet again. And in a fourth one, a local Republican candidate being recounted was awarded 105 more votes than he had before."

So, let me try to understand this; Brad cannot gain access to the "internets" at his hotel in San Fancisco, so our Democracy hangs in the balance as we wait for his report on the findings in New Hampshire? Please tell me how the plausablity of all this should have integrity enough to convince my countrymen whom I have been attempting to awaken to this urgent threat! Yeah!

I look forward to more Sibel blogging, especially since the GOP bushie era congressman was indicted for giving aid to al Quieda.
Sibel was pointing out nuclear bomb aid to terrorists from high ups in government. Who are still around.
It rings true.

ya know they make pcmcia cards for laptops that use cell phone technology to provide access anytime. You can plug these into a little router and use a ac/dc converter to make your care a hot spot. Or you can sign up for a data plan with your smart cell phone and piggy back it to your laptop with blue tooth.
Though these cost money and there are probably a few other options for internet access anywhere can't we get brad some of this equipment. Ya know it don't sound like he's funded to well. Maybe Brad, you could let us all know what you need to do your job more effectively/ efficiently and we could give you some handme down equipment. Or atleast raise some funds on your behalf. So what do you need other then a cool million?
You are doing a shit load of work and most people including me are just playing armchair quaterback, (Not phil though, sounds like his ulcer has got babies)

Why is this so slow ?
The official recount page was fast publishing for the Manchester5 ward in Hillsborough. And the Bradblog highlighted a 10% discrepancy both for Obama and Hillary.
As you might have seen from the statistical analysis carried out at Scienceblog and Eurotribune, the smoking gun might the total Hillsborough tally.
Start with that and look for a flip of 7000 votes from Obama to Hillary.

Brad,
Broadband cards are great. And much more secure than motel internet. They'd be about $50 a month but are worth it if you travel a lot.
Keep up the good work.

To GWN#22, all I did was pluck the numbers for Clinton and Obama off of the NH Secretary of State's web site, drop them into a spread sheet, calculate a variance for each precinct, and total those columns. Manchester County is apparently the only county that Kucinich asked a recount for (I guess to save money). This county is 100% Diebold optical scan.

OneGuys asked:

Any amount less than, or up to that, would help. I'm quite certain that most folks believe that someone is funding this operation. They would almost all be entirely wrong.
