While I've been so busy over the last several months, pushing folks to support other worthy causes, etc., I've been unable to find a moment to do any actual (much needed) fundraising for The BRAD BLOG. Plus, I really hate to beg. But don't have much of a choice. By and large, it is reader donations that keep us going. At least until some big funder shows up and makes our day.

Until then, two different American heroes have generously donated several signed copies of their books for us to sell as premiums. They are both signed exclusively by the authors to BRAD BLOG's readers...

I strongly recommend each of these books and will ship either to you for a donation of $50 or more. A donation of $75 or more gets you both of the books if you'd like (while supplies last.) Please include your preference and mailing address when donating here.

Professor Spencer Overton was the brave dissenter from the phony Baker/Carter "Blue Ribbon" National Election Reform Commission. His dissent was not allowed in full by the commission. It is here. We reported on the Baker/Carter scam from the get-go (only the crooks at the ACVR could possibly consider James A. Baker, who went to the Supreme Court to keep American votes from being counted in 2000, an appropriate person to head up an election reform commission!) Overton was one of the commissioners who refused to play along with the scam, which is detailed in his new book Stealing Democracy: The New Politics of Voter Suppresssion.

Paul Rieckhoff has been one of my heroes since speaking up, long before it was popular, in calling out the Bush Administration for their deplorable lack of support for the troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Upon leaving his Wall Street job to go and fight after 9/11, he eventually found himself leading a squad into Baghdad in what would become our current quagmire. He formed the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA, formerly Op-Truth) not long after his return. His harrowing first-hand accounts of that effort are detailed in Chasing Ghosts: A Soldier's Fight for America from Baghdad to Washington.

Supplies are very limited (about 10 of each), so I'll try to update this item when either or both books are no longer available. It's first-come, first-served, so please donate today.

A world of thanks to both Spencer and Paul for their tremendous generosity! As well, my thanks to you for your continuing support and my apologies for this necessary disruption as we all barrel forward with democracy together...into the unknown.
